Yiayia Chrisanthi’s Greek Jam Filled Cookies
4 Turkish cups sunflower oil
4 Turkish cups sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanillin
Your choice of preserve or jam
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
- In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients together. If the dough is too soft add some flour. Use a tablespoon to create small balls and place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Use your finger to make a well in the center of each cookie. Fill the hole with ½ teaspoon of preserve. My favorite is fig preserve with a little honey.
- Bake for 15 – 20 minutes until golden brown on the bottom. Remove and let cool.
