From delicate white powdered kourambiedes to crunchy-layered baklava, Greece is known for its mouth-watering desserts. Prepared with honey, nuts, and locally harvested fruits, these treats will tempt the sweet tooth of anyone.
Baklava is considered one of the most traditional desserts, dating back to the Ottoman Empire. It is a rich, sweet pastry prepared by combining nuts (typically walnuts or pistachios) and honey between several layers of thin phyllo dough. The exact recipe varies among regions. In Armenia, ‘paklava’ is made with cinnamon and cloves, while in Lebanon is made with nuts and steeped in various syrups. Looks like we either need to travel to try each recipe out!
All I know is that at the GIFM we made the BEST baklava. #wechallengeyou

Risogalo is the Greek version of rice pudding. Don’t be fooled though, our recipe at the GIFM is unlike any other Risogalo recipe you have tried. Risogalo is made by cooking rice in milk and adding sugar and cinnamon for flavor.
A great refreshing light treat!
